Sauzier Waterfall is tucked into the jungle behind Port Glaud on Mahé’s west coast — a 20m granite cascade falling into a clear plunge pool you can swim in. The walk in from the road is 10 minutes through banana trees and takamaka. Sometimes there’s no one else there.
You pay a small entrance fee to a local family who maintains the trail (around SCR 100). Don’t bring towels, do bring water shoes (the granite around the pool is slippery), and check before you swim if you’ve had a heavy rain day — the river runs harder.
Best for
A 1-hour stop on a west-coast day. Pair with Port Launay beach a few minutes south.
When to go
Year-round but most spectacular November–April when the river runs harder. Drier months mean less water but easier swimming.
How to get there
From Victoria, the Sans Souci road or the coastal road to Port Glaud (~40 min). Signposted from the main road; small parking area.
What’s nearby
Port Launay Beach (10 min south), Constance Ephelia, the start of the Morne Seychellois trails.
