Perched at the top of La Digue
Patatran Village sits at the northern tip of La Digue, built up the granite hillside above the lovely little cove of Anse Patates. Rooms climb the slope to catch sea views over the water toward Praslin, and the whole hotel has the relaxed, characterful feel of the island it belongs to, informal, friendly and beautifully placed.
It is one of the better-known places to stay on La Digue, popular for its position, its views and its easy access to some of the island’s prettiest northern beaches, all reachable by the bicycle that is the island’s favourite way to get around.
Views, dining and the island
The setting is the draw, sea-view rooms, sunsets over the water and the sculpted granite and turquoise pool of Anse Patates just below. The hotel’s restaurant has a good reputation, and the northern-tip location makes it an easy base for cycling to Anse Severe, the village at La Passe and on toward the famous L’Union Estate and Anse Source d’Argent.
It suits travellers who want to be on La Digue itself, soaking up the slow, car-free rhythm of the island, rather than day-tripping across from Praslin.
