A remote, laid-back private island on the northern edge of the Seychelles bank, ringed by white sand and reef. Barefoot, unplugged, and known for its fishing and diving.
A private coral island
Denis lies about 95 kilometres north of Mahé, a small coral island on the very edge of the Seychelles plateau where the shallow bank drops into deep ocean. That edge is why it is famous with anglers and divers, with big-game fishing and dramatic drop-offs a short boat ride away.
The island is reached by a light aircraft from Mahé and circled entirely by white sand. A scatter of cottages sits back among the palms and casuarinas, deliberately simple and barefoot, with the accent on nature rather than gloss.
Unplugged, natural and self-sufficient
Life here is slow and unplugged. The island runs its own farm and gardens, giant tortoises roam freely, and seabirds and turtles nest in season. It suits travellers who want genuine seclusion, snorkelling and diving, and dinners built around what the island grows and the boats bring in.
This is a place to switch off completely, not a resort of bars and buggies. Come for the quiet, the water and the sense of being somewhere genuinely remote.

Denis is a small, remote private island with limited cottages and its own flights, so it is worth arranging well ahead. Check dates and rooms to plan a genuinely unplugged escape.

Come for the water and let the island set the pace. Denis is about fishing, diving and doing very little, so pre-book your flights and any fishing charters, then leave the schedule behind once you land.
