Trois Frères (“Three Brothers”) is the central Mahé hike — a 2.5–3 hour climb through forest to a 699m summit ridge above Victoria. The trail is properly steep, gains 500m of altitude, and asks for a basic level of trail fitness. The summit views run north over the airport, east to Praslin on a clear day, and west to the Indian Ocean.
The trail starts behind the Sans Souci tea factory. The first half is forested switchbacks; the second half opens into granite scramble. The summit ridge is exposed — bring a layer, sun protection, and at least 2 litres of water per person.
Best for
Experienced hikers, photographers, anyone who wants the central-Seychelles view that nothing else gives.
When to go
Dry season (May–October). Start by 7am — the climb is brutal in midday heat.
How to get there
Drive to the Sans Souci tea factory; the trailhead is just past it. Around 20 minutes from Victoria. A guide is recommended for the steeper section.
What’s nearby
Copolia and Mission Lodge are on the same road. Anse Major and Morne Blanc on neighbouring trails.
