A garden lodge on Côte d’Or
Côte d’Or Lodge sits among palms and tropical gardens a short walk from the calm sweep of Anse Volbert, the beach locals call Côte d’Or. It is a long-running, unpretentious place with a pool, a restaurant and a genuinely relaxed, island pace.
The bay in front is shallow, calm and swimmable, with the islets of Chauve Souris and St Pierre a short paddle or boat ride offshore for snorkelling.
Easy, affordable and central
This is a good-value base rather than a luxury resort, popular with travellers who care more about location and atmosphere than polish. Everything on Côte d’Or, the restaurants, the dive centre, the boat jetty, is within an easy stroll.
From here the whole of Praslin opens up, with the Vallée de Mai inland, Anse Lazio over the hill and day boats to Curieuse and La Digue leaving nearby.
