ANSE PIERROT
A small, gorgeous beach just beyond Anse Source d’Argent on La Digue, quieter than its famous neighbour. Shallow turquoise water among the classic granite boulders.
This peaceful, small beach features large scattered rocks & lush vegetation in a remote setting.
Beyond Source d’Argent
Anse Pierrot lies a short way past the celebrated Anse Source d’Argent, at the southern end of that string of granite-studded coves on La Digue’s west coast. Most day-trippers stop at the famous stretch, so pushing on a little brings you to sand that is just as beautiful and noticeably quieter.
It carries the same postcard ingredients that made this coast world-famous, huge sculpted boulders, powder sand and shallow, impossibly clear water, but with far fewer people in the frame. You reach it on foot along the shore from the L’Union Estate side, an easy extension of a Source d’Argent visit.
The same beauty, fewer people
The water here is shallow and usually calm, sheltered by the rocks and the reef, which makes it lovely for wading, floating and gentle snorkelling. The scenery is the main event, the sort of place where you simply sit among the granite and take it in.
Because you pass through L’Union Estate to reach this stretch, the estate’s entry fee applies, and there are no facilities at the beach itself, so bring water. Go early or late to have the boulders and the turquoise shallows closer to yourself.
