The Four Seasons occupies a steep, jungle-clad hillside above Petite Anse, a curved, protected bay near Baie Lazare on the south-west coast. Its villas and residences are threaded through the treetops, each private and angled at the sea, reached by buggy down the slope.
At the bottom lies one of the loveliest private beaches on Mahé, calm and sheltered, with a dive centre, water sports and a beach bar. The setting, all forest, granite and ocean, is as much the draw as the rooms.
