Kreolfleurage is a small, independent perfume maker on Mahe, and a lovely antidote to the mass-produced souvenir. Working in small batches, it distils the flowers, spices and green, salty air of the Seychelles into natural fragrances, along with a little collection of candles, diffusers and soaps. It is craft rather than commerce, and the results carry a real sense of place.
The range is deliberately small, a handful of signature scents rather than a wall of bottles, and everything is made with care. For a gift or a keepsake that actually smells of the islands, it is far more personal than anything off a shelf.
